of '05

Anne Johansen ('05)  has obtained a position in the histopathology laboratory at the Torbay Hospital in South Devon, England and will start sometime in November. If MLS grads want information about working in the UK, please contact medlabsc@ualberta.ca and Jennifer will put you in touch with Anne. (3 Nov. 2005)
 

Kristi Lew ('05) was appointed to MLS as the hematology/hemostatis instructor in the didactic portion of the program. (1 Aug 2008)

Class

of '03

Jelena Lecak Holovati ('03) obtained a PhD form the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (University of Alberta) in June 2008. She was appointed to MLS as an assistant professor (1 August 2008). She will be teaching microbiology in the didactic portion of the program.

Class

of '02

Angela Chung('02) successfully defended her thesis in April and graduated with an MSc in Toxicology (Forensics) in Oct. 2006 from the University of Saskatchewan.
 

Sonya Lockyer ('02)  will begin an MBA program at the  University of Toronto in August and has been awarded a  $16,000 scholarship. She will be doing a double major in Healthcare Management and Consulting. (20 May 2005)

Amanda Nischuk ('01) is the new MLS lecturer in clinical chemistry. (Aug. 2003)

2008
Kristi Lew ('05) was appointed to MLS as the hematology/hemostatis instructor in the didactic portion of the program.

2006
Rosalind Lane ('76), lecturer/clinical instructor (histotechnology and microbiology), is on the planning committee for the 30-year MLS reunion to be held on September 30, 2006. How time flies!
 

Monika Keelan ('79) was appointed full-time Associate Professor in the Dept of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in Jul 2006. Monika also serves as Chair of the  Research Committee for LMP.

2003
Monika Keelan ('79) completed a post-doctoral fellowship (AHFMR) with Diane Taylor in Medical Microbiology and Immunology in January 2003 when she started work with Health Canada.
  Amanda Nischuk ('01) was appointed to MLS as lecturer (clinical chemistry)
 

Christopher Ward ('97) obtained an MEd from University of Alberta in June 2003. His MEd was in Education Policy Studies - Adult and Higher Education. Chris is now an assistant professor and clinical instructor in MLS.

2001

Christopher Ward ('97) was appointed to MLS as the transfusion medicine instructor (July 2001).

 
Rosemarie Cunningham ('63) , who retired from MLS in 1997, continues to teach in INTD 410.
